How to enter

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY.

To enter the “Family Kicks NBA 3on3Reporter for a day contest, go to www.family.ca and click on the “Family Kicks NBA 3on3 Reporter for a day  Contest” contest in the WIN IT section of the website to access the contest microsite.  Once you have opened the contest microsite, click on the ENTER button to access the standard contest entry form. Enter your first name, last name, city, province, e-mail address, age range (entrants must be between the ages of 8 and 16 in order to be eligible to win) and telephone number.  The contest runs from 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) October 21st to 9:00 a.m. ET November 25th, 2009 (‘the Contest Period’).
                              
If you do not have access to the Internet but would like to participate, you can enter the contest by sending us your full name, telephone number, province of residence, and age by mail. The entry will be entered on the day it is received, provided it is within the contest deadline. Send entries to:

An entrant under the age of majority in his/her province of residence must have a parent or legal guardian consent to his/her participation. Proof of identification and parental consent must be provided upon request.  If a parent or legal guardian does not provide consent, or if proof of identification can not be obtained, the entry will be disqualified.

The contact information collected by The Family Channel Inc. (“Family”) with your entry will only be used to identify and contact the prize winners.  Family will not use this personal information for any other reason.  Nor will Family disclose this personal information to any other party.

All Contest entries are eligible for the Grand prize. 

 

Eligibility:

The contest is open to persons who are between the ages of 8 and 16 years of age as of the date of the Tournament, and are permanent residents of Canada, excluding residents of Quebec and employees of Family,and of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (“MLSE”), (collectively the “Sponsors”) and the National Basketball Association and its Member Teams, NBA Properties, Inc., NBA Canada Inc., NBA Media Ventures, LLC (collectively the “NBA Entities”) and each of their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, governors, agents, their advertising and promotional agencies (and their immediate families and those with whom they are domiciled), are not eligible to enter." (collectively the “Sponsors”) (and their immediate family members or persons with whom they are domiciled) their affiliates, and their respective advertising and promotional agencies involved in this contest.  The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.  Contest void where prohibited by law.  Family, reserves the right, to cancel or suspend this contest in the event of any accident, or administrative or other error of any kind.

To be considered for the grand prize, entries must be received by post and email, by Family no later than 9:00 a.m. EST November 25th, 2009 EST. The Sponsors take no responsibility for entries that are lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete, garbled or received after the contest deadline. 

Limit of one (1) entry per person.   Only one e-mail address and account may be used by any person to enter the Contest.  In the event that Family receives more than one (1) entry per person, for the contest duration, Family reserves the right to void and destroy duplicate entries and that entrant may, at the discretion of the Sponsors, be disqualified from the Contest.  Should it be discovered that an entrant is using the aid of computer programs to auto-fill entries, that entrant will be immediately disqualified from the Contest.  Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify all such contestant from future contests conducted by the Sponsors without further notice.  By submitting an entry, entrants agree to be bound by these official rules and regulations.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address at the time of entry.  The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the e-mail address in question.

 

PRIZES

A random draw will be held at or around 3:00PM ET November 26th, 2009 at Family’s office located at 181 Bay Street, Brookfield Place, Toronto, Ontario, from all eligible entries received on or before the contest closing date. There will be one (1) grand prize draw. The chances of being selected depend on the total number of eligible entries received by any of the methods of entry.

Grand Prize:     

There is one (1) Grand Prize package available to be won:

A trip for 2 to Toronto, 2 nights’ accommodation, $150 CAD cash. Travel will take place December 11th –December 13th, 2009, no adjustments to these dates will made.

  1. Two (2) round-trip economy airfares between the major Canadian International Airport closest to the winner’s residence in Canada to Toronto International Pearson Airport. All airline tickets will be issued for the same round-trip flights.  Airline tickets are non-transferable and any changes will be based on availability and could result in additional costs which would be the responsibility of the contest winner. The necessary travel documents are the responsibility of the winner and the winner’s travel companion.

 

  1. Two (2) nights hotel accommodation with one room based on double occupancy (to be selected by Family in its sole discretion).  A valid credit card (or cash deposit, as set out by the hotel) will be required at hotel check-in.  Accommodations include taxes, however incidental costs incurred by the winner and guest, including but not limited to meals, phone calls, laundry, room service, alcoholic beverages, merchandise and souvenirs, gratuities and movies are the responsibility of the winner and guest.  Hotel accommodations are subject to availability.
  1. While in Toronto, the winner will get to attend the following events:

 

  • An interview with a Raptors player on practice day (Saturday December 12th), the player selected will be at NBA Entities’ discretion and subject to change;
  • A tour of the Raptors locker room, and opportunity to be filmed in a segment in the Raptors’ locker room  (Saturday December 12) practice day, which may be aired on family.ca;
  • Two game tickets for Sunday December 13th (“Game Day”)
  • Attendance at Raptors pre-game shoot around on Game Day Meet-and-greet pre-game with either Jack Armstrong or Matt Devlin on Game Day, the player selected will be at NBA Entities’ discretion.
  • Opportunity to listen in courtside on a head-set to Raptors pre-game commentary  on Game Day.

The Grand Prize winner must be accompanied on the Grand Prize trip by his/her legal guardian who has agreed to be fully and legally responsible for the winner at all times during the trip.

Approximate Retail Value of the Grand Prize package is CDN $3500.  Some restrictions apply. 

The winners will be responsible for obtaining transportation to and from the tournament closest to their city of residence. Any required travel and health documents (which must be valid prior to and for the entire duration of the trip), transportation to and from the departure airport or other departure location (ground transportation), gratuities, applicable taxes, travel insurance incidentals and all other expenses not specifically mentioned above. 

All costs and expenses not specifically included above as part of each Grand Prize including, without limitation, cancellation fees, taxes, departure taxes, other travel related taxes and fees, duties and levies, meals, telephone charges, other room charges, incidental expenses, medical expenses and other items of a personal nature, additional optional excursions, gratuities and insurance, are the sole responsibility of each Grand Prize Winner and his/her guest. 

 

Acceptance of Prize

Entrants selected as winners must correctly complete a mathematical skill testing question and must sign a declaration confirming compliance with the rules and regulations and acceptance of the prize as awarded, and a release form acknowledging the non-responsibility of the Sponsors, their affiliates and/or associates and their respective agents, employees and officers and directors and the NBA Entities with regard to any injury, accident, damage, claim, liability, loss or misfortune related to any aspects of the contest, prize, the acceptance, use, misuse, possession and delivery of the prize,  printing errors, claims based upon publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, prior to being awarded the Prize. If a winner is a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian must sign a declaration and release form on his/her behalf in order for the winner to claim his/her prize.

Selected entrants will be notified by telephone or e-mail within two (2) days of the draw.  Selected entrants will then have three (3) days following receipt thereof to contact Family to claim their prize. Should Family not receive confirmation within three (3) days, or should a selected entrant be unable to correctly answer the skill-testing question or complete the declaration and release by the date specified, selected entrant will be deemed to have forfeited any rights to the prize and a back-up entrant will be selected in the same manner by random draw taken from the same pool of entries, in which event, the foregoing provisions of this sentence shall also apply to such other eligible entry.  All prize taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the winner. Limit one (1) prize per person or household.

Family will not be held responsible for the loss of prizes due to changes in mailing addresses, errors in completed entry forms or any other circumstances leading to an invalid, erroneous or incomplete mailing address or e-mail address.

Family or its appointed designee shall deliver the prize to the winner.

 

GENRAL CONDITIONS

Prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be exactly as shown. Family, in their sole discretion, reserve the right to substitute any portion of the Grand Prize Package or Secondary Prizes with a prize of equivalent or greater retail value.  Some restrictions may apply.  Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and have no cash value.

All entries are the property of Family and will not be returned.

Each entrant agrees to waive all rights with respect to print and broadcast publicity. By entering the contest and accepting a prize, the winner or parent or legal guardian of the winner hereby consents to the reasonable use by Family and the NBA Entities of the winner's photograph, voice, likeness and/or image, contents of the entry form and the name and age of the winner without any further compensation for any future promotional activity.  Each entrant consents and agrees to the Family’s collection and use of the information provided by the entrant for the purpose of administering this Contest.  Each entrant agrees to be bound by these Contest Rules and Regulations.

Family is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry of registration or entry information which may affect an entrants’ inability to get through on the internet during the promotion or ability to participate in the Contest, including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed/corrupted data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof, any inability to access the site, or damage to a user's system occasioned by participating in the Contest, and entries which fail to fully comply with these Contest Rules and Regulations. 

Family reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend a contest for any reason, including without limitation in the event of any printing, administrative error, virus, bug, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond its control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the Family reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.  Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way. Family is not responsible for preemption, cancellation, or interruption, in whole or in part, of any Family contest related programming.
