Get ready to catch the Stand UP! Wave on Friday, November 20th!

Dear Educator,

Thank you for signing up to join tens of thousands of students from hundreds of schools across Canada who will show their support for bullying prevention by taking part in Family Channel’s Stand UP! Wave.

This national effort will take place on Friday, November 20th, immediately following a special bullying-prevention themed episode of hit Family series The Latest Buzz, which will air on Family Channel at 12 pm ET (9 am PT, 10 am MT, 11 am CT, 1pm AT and 1:30pm NT). If your school does not receive Family Channel, the Stand UP! Wave special will also be available online at Family.ca, beginning at 12:25 pm ET.

The Stand UP! Wave will move West to East across time zones, so make sure your school is ready and then follow along with the Family Channel host and school representing your time zone. This event represents an excellent opportunity for your school to generate a discussion about the critical issue of bullying prevention. We recommend that the entire school watches the Stand UP! Wave special in the gym; to help facilitate discussion, PREVNet has developed a teacher’s guide for the bullying-prevention episode of The Latest Buzz -- this guide can be downloaded here:

By taking part in this initiative, Family Channel will include your school’s name on Family Channel on November 20th as part of the Stand UP! Wave special.  Your school’s name will also appear on a special Stand UP! Map we’ve created on Family.ca. Finally, all participating schools who upload a video will receive a commemorative poster to hang in your school.
