FAMILY'S "HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON3D" CONTEST ("Contest") OFFICIAL RULES

How To Enter

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY.

To enter the Contest, visit www.family.ca and click on the “HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON” icon displayed in the WIN section of the website to access the contest microsite.  Once you have opened the Contest microsite, click on the ENTER button and play the “HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON” Association Game.  Match the visual of each individual monster to their description.  You will then be prompted to enter your first name, e-mail address, age range.  A completed on-line entry form will constitute one (1) entry into the Contest.  The Contest runs from 10:00am Eastern Time (“ET”) on March 1, 2010 to 9:00am Eastern Time March 30, 2010.

If you do not have access to the Internet but would like to participate, you can enter the Contest by sending us your full name, telephone number and age as well as the name of one of the stars of the movie and mail your entry to:

An entrant under the age of majority in his/her province of residence must have a parent or legal guardian consent to his/her participation.  Proof of identification and parental consent must be provided upon request.  If a parent or legal guardian does not provide consent, or if proof of identification can not be obtained, the entry will be disqualified.  The contact information collected by Family Channel Inc. (“Family”) with your entry will only be used to award the Contest prizes.  Family will not use this personal information for any other reason and will not otherwise disclose this personal information to any other party.

Eligibility:

The contest is open to residents of Canada only, excluding residents of Quebec and employees, officers, directors, representatives and agents (and their immediate family members or persons with whom they are domiciled) of Family, , and Paramount Pictures Entertainment Canada, Inc., its licensors and affiliate entities (collectively the “Contest Sponsors”), or their respective affiliates, parent companies, subsidiaries, licensors, divisions, distributors and advertising and promotional agencies, as such employees of Contest Entities are not eligible to enter or win any prize.  The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.  Contest void where prohibited or restricted by law.  Family reserves the right to cancel or suspend this contest in the event of any accident, or administrative or other error of any kind.

Entries must be received for the contest at Family both by post and online no later than Tuesday March 30, 2010 at 9:00 am (ET). Family and the other Contest Sponsors take no responsibility for entries that are lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete, garbled or received after the contest deadline.  Only one e-mail address and account may be used by any person to enter the Contest.  In the event that Family receives more than one (1) entry per person, per day, Family reserves the right to void and destroy duplicate entries and that entrant may, at the discretion of the Sponsors, be disqualified from the Contest.  Should it be discovered that an entrant is using the aid of computer programs to auto-fill entries, that entrant will be immediately disqualified from the Contest.  By submitting a Contest entry, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and Regulations.

In the event of a dispute as to the identity of a winner based on an e-mail address, the winning entry will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address at the time of entry.  The authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet service provider or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the e-mail address in question.

The Draw

Grand Prize: A random draw will be held at or around 3:00PM ET on April 7, 2010 at Family’s office located at 181 Bay Street, Brookfield Place, Toronto, Ontario, from all eligible entries received on or before the Contest closing date.  The chances of being selected depend on the total number of eligible entries received for the Grand Prize draw.  Selected entrants must respond within 5 days of notification from Family or an alternate winner would be chosen from the same pool of entries.

All amounts are in Canadian dollars.  All other costs not expressly listed as part of a prize (including any and all taxes) are solely the responsibility of the winners.

Acceptance of Prize

Selected entrants will be notified by telephone or email on the same within the day as of the draw for the Grand Prize.  Selected entrants for the Grand Prize entrant will then have 5 days following receipt thereof to contact Family to claim the Grand Prize.  Should Family not receive confirmation by the date specified, or should a selected entrant be unable to correctly answer the skill-testing question or complete the declaration and release by the date specified, selected entrant will be deemed to have irrevocably forfeited any rights to the prize and a back-up entrant will be selected in the same manner by random draw taken from the same pool of entries.

Entrants selected as winners must correctly complete a mathematical skill testing question and each must sign a declaration confirming compliance with the Contest Rules and Regulations and acceptance of the prize as awarded, and a release form discharging, indemnifying and acknowledging the non-responsibility of the Contest Sponsors, their affiliates, licensors, parent companies, subsidiaries, divisions, distributors and/or associates and their respective agents, representatives, employees and officers and directors with regard to any injury, accident, damage, claim, liability, loss or losses to any person (including death) or property of any kind or misfortune resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly related to any aspects of the Contest, prize, or from the acceptance, use, misuse, possession and delivery of the prize, or participation in any Contest-related activity, printing errors, claims based upon publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy, prior to being awarded the Prize.  If any winner is a minor, his/her parent or legal guardian must sign a declaration and release form on his/her behalf in order for the winner to claim his/her prize.

The Contest Sponsors will not be held responsible for the loss of prize(s) due to changes in mailing addresses, errors in completed entry forms or any other circumstances leading to an invalid, erroneous or incomplete mailing address or e-mail address.

Family or its appointed designee(s) shall deliver the prize to the winner(s) where applicable.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

Prizes must be accepted as awarded and may not be exactly as shown.  FAMILY, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute any portion of the Grand Prize Package or Secondary Prizes with a prize of equivalent or greater retail value.  Some restrictions may apply.  Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and have no cash value.

All entries become the property of Family and will not be returned.

Each entrant agrees to waive all rights with respect to print and broadcast publicity.  By entering the Contest and accepting a prize, the winner or parent or legal guardian of the winner hereby consents to the reasonable use by the Contest Sponsors of the winner's photograph, voice, likeness and/or image, contents of the entry form and the name and age of the winner, on a worldwide basis and in all forms of media, in perpetuity, without any further compensation for any future advertising or promotional activity.  Each entrant consents and agrees to the Contest Sponsors’ collection and use of the information provided by the entrant for the purpose of administering this Contest.  Each entrant agrees to be bound by these Contest Rules and Regulations.

Entrants agree that neither Family nor the other Contest Sponsors, shall be liable or responsible for any failure of the Family web site during the contest nor for any problems or technical malfunctions with respect to telephone lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software or any failure thereof or Internet traffic congestion, or any combination thereof including injury or damage to an entrant’s or third party’s computer.  Family reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Contest should a virus or any other factor beyond Family’s control corrupt the security or administration of the contest.  Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are illegible, mechanically reproduced, generated by a macro, bot or other automated means, mutilated, forged, falsified, altered, garbled, or tampered with in any way.  

The Contest Sponsors are not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate entry of registration or entry information which may affect an entrants’ inability to get through on the internet during the promotion or ability to participate in the Contest, including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed/corrupted data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof, any inability to access the site, or damage to a user's system occasioned by participating in the Contest, and entries which fail to fully comply with these Contest Rules and Regulations.

Family reserves the right, in its sole and absolute discretion, to cancel, modify or suspend a Contest in the event of any printing, administrative error, virus, bug, unauthorized human intervention or other causes beyond its control which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest.  Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, the FAMILY reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.  Entries are subject to verification and will be declared invalid if they are forged, falsified, altered or tampered with in any way.  Family and its sponsors are not responsible for preemption, cancellation, or interruption, in whole or in part, of any Family Contest related programming.
